Catholic Schools Week

Today begins a very special week for us here at Christ the King
School, Catholic Schools Week. I cannot say enough what a wonderful place Christ the King is. I attribute is to you the parents and all the great students I have been blessed to teach over the years. Thank you again for all of your support every single day.

Last week our sugar cube structures arrive safely to our room. Here are some pictures of what they look like.

I am always amazed at how beautiful and creative this project is!!

Reading:  This week's story is called "Cactus Hotel". Much of what is taught in this story, I already have taught in Science.

Language:  This week I will send home the February book report project. This month one of the books will need to be a poetry. The students always ask me if he/she has to read the entire book. The answer is---yes. Along with the book your child will have a book report form to fill out. The book report and Book-It will be due at the end of the month.

Math:  With time behind us, we will be starting multiplication officially on Monday. To help prepare for ISTEP, I will also be weaving in other topics like measurement, area, and perimeter.

Science:  We will be wrapping up our chapter this week. Expect a test by the end of the week.

Have a wonderful week!
